An amphitheatre of captains' mansions on the Gulf of Corinth, with the mountains of Delphi rising across the water. Marble-and-pebble lanes you walk rather than drive, two natural harbours, a celebrated Maritime Museum, and a sailing culture centuries deep.
Protected as a traditional settlement — so the grace of the town is guaranteed to endure — and roughly two and a half hours from Athens. Near enough for a weekend; far enough to feel another century.
